Board of Directors

Greg Waddell, President

Greg and his family are transplanted, life-long Athenians. Both Greg and his wife, Dee, attended UGA, and their children, Ashley and Perry, currently attend UGA. Greg has more than 30 years of experience running at various levels, including coaching and volunteering. Greg is COO of Accounts Billing Service, Inc., a family-owned company with operations in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. His 25 years of real estate development and sales resulted in the formation of Waddell Realty Group, for which he is the Principal and Broker as of January 2018, serving Athens and surrounding communities.

Dustin Shinholser, Vice President

Dustin was born and raised in Athens and has been a runner nearly all of his life. Dustin owns Fleet Feet Sports Athens, which opened in 2013, and can usually be found there when he isn’t out running. He also enjoys competing in triathlons, following the Georgia Bulldogs, and spending time with his better half, Catherine, and their dog, Bruce Wayne.

Sara Freeland, Secretary

A former high school runner, Sara took up running again in her 30s. Now she tries to get faster without getting too hurt. She likes trail runs, speed work and seeing cute dogs on her runs. When she’s not running, she might be at yoga class, eating cookies or doing media relations for UGA. She is a dog mom and aspiring crazy cat lady.

Cera Jones, Treasurer

Cera grew up in Ohio and moved to Georgia in 2007. She started running with the Athens Running Company Couch to 5k program in 2014 and has been hooked since. Cera’s passion is for the trails and she races anything from 5Ks to ultra marathons, and hopes to complete her first 100 miler this year.

Cathryn Quinn,  Board Member, Communications

A native of Cleveland, OH, Cathryn found herself transplanted to Athens, GA, in December 2014 thanks to her husband’s new faculty position at UGA. Luckily, she landed in this amazing running community. Cathryn loves racing any distance from the 5K to the marathon and hopes to qualify for the 2019 Boston Marathon. She works as an administrator at UGA and in her free time, she loves reading, writing, cooking, and traveling.

Susan Adams, Board Member

6501908 Susan is a mother of three and previously worked as a nurse practitioner. She has been running for approximately 30 years.

Brad Frink, Board Member

Brad has lived in Athens for 20 years and met both loves of his life here: his wife Deana and running!  While Brad enjoys the experience of all race distances from sprints to ultra-marathons, the sense of community that running builds keeps him engaged and in love with the sport.

Krystina Stoner, Board Member

Originally from Virginia, Krystina moved to Athens in 2013 and almost immediately joined ARR. A lover of the marathon, overnight relay races, and the Virginia Tech Hokies, she loves any run that also involves socializing. Krystina is the Director of Operations for a technology integration firm and also provides tutoring services to middle school, high school, and university students.

Michael Klipper, Board Member

Michael is a math lecturer at UGA, formerly from Pittsburgh and Connecticut. He’s frequently at many of the community group runs in town, including early morning Wednesday track, though his ability to stay at a consistent pace is still a work in progress. He is generally available to help out with random training and pacing. He is also a semi-retired Dance Dance Revolution player and an occasional yoga participant.

Tino Johnson, Past President

Tino works for UGA as a fundraiser in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. He has been an active member of ARR since he returned to running in 2012 after the birth of his daughter. A Couch-to-5K program he completed with his wife renewed his love of running. Tino served on the board for three years and he actively participates in many of the community group runs. Tino can often be found at Saturday morning runs and Wednesday morning speed workouts.
