The 2023 Grand Prix Series

12 races that will challenge you to be a better runner, foster camaraderie within the club, and promote participation in new and established races.

Grand Prix Rules

Members Only

All ARR members are automatically enrolled in the Grand Prix Series provided they have paid dues by the first race (January 29, 2022 for this year). Members who join after the first race are not eligible for this year.

A member must participate in 2 or more races to be eligible for prizes.

Age Groups

Age groups will be divided the following way: 14 and under; 15-19; 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

Points

Chip times are used to determine age group placement.

Participation: 10 points are awarded for each Grand Prix race a member completes.

Performance: Additional points are earned if a member finishes in the first 5 places in their age group. 5 additional points for 1st place; 4 for 2nd; 3 for 3rd; 2 for 2nd; and 1 for 5th.

Volunteering: 10 points are awarded for up to two Grand Prix races where you volunteer to help. Report your volunteer points within 30 days of the race to [email protected]

Birth Date

Your age group is determined by your age on December 31 of the Grand Prix year (December 31, 2022 for this year). So if, for example, you “age up” from 34 to 35 in 2022, you will score in the 35-39 age group for the entire year.

Awards

The male and female Road Runner with the most points at the end of the series will be presented with a jacket at the next annual meeting. No ties will be allowed.

In addition, the top three male and female in each age group will receive an award.

2023 Grand Prix Race Schedule

The 2023 series will be based on a “pick and choose” model. Pick up to ten of your best races; races and volunteering opportunities will be counted in the standings. Grab your calendar and build out your perfect race series!
