World Cross Country Championships will be help in Tallahassee, FL on January 10th 2026, at Apalachee Regional Park. This is a very rare opportunity, as this meet is seldom held in the United States (last time 33 years ago).

World Cross Country champs always attracts a lot of world-class distance runners. The 2024 edition of World Cross included Olympic Champions and World Record holders Joshua Cheptegei of Uganda and Beatrice Chebet of Kenya.

The World Cross website says the "organizing committee has prioritized the fan experience, creating multiple viewing areas throughout the course with large screens tracking athletes in real time, ensuring spectators won’t miss a moment of the action. The Apalachee Regional Park course features rolling hills, forests and unique challenges like sand, water, mud, a rollercoaster element and obstacles inspired by wildlife."

For those looking to join the excitement, a Fun Run event will be held immediately following the championship races. Participants can choose between a 2km or 4km distance, earn a commemorative medal, and take on the same Florida-inspired obstacles faced by the world’s top competitors.

On the following day, January 11th, 2026, the 2025-26 USATF National Club Cross Country Championships will be contested on at Apalachee Regional Park. The Club Cross Country Championships will consist of five separate races: Masters Women 6 km, Masters Men 60+ 8 km, Masters Men (40-59) 10 km, Open Women 6 km, and Open Men 10 km.
